Industrial Production increased 0.4 percent from the previous month, and 2.8 percent for the year. This was the fourth consecutive monthly increase.  The increase was primarily due to the following Industries: 1. Transport equipment, 2. General machinery, and 3. Chemicals (excl. Drugs). The Japan Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry reported that Retail Sales in Japan declined by 0.1 percent in February. Commercial and wholesale sales were up 7.5 and 5.5 percent respectively.  This was the second straight month decline in retail sales.
