Corn Crop Condition Falls Slightly While Spring Wheat Rises

Corn

  • 92 percent of crop has emerged compared to 76 percent last week;
  • 72 percent of crop rated good to excellent, down from 77 percent a week ago;
  • 5 percent of crop rated very poor to poor, compared to 3 percent last week.

Soybeans

  • 89 percent of crop has been planted compared to 76 percent last week;
  • 61 percent of crop has emerged compated to 35 percent a week ago;

Cotton

  • 76 percent of crop has been planted compared to 62 percent last week;
  • 7 percent of crop has squared, compared to none a week ago;
  • 57 percent of the crop is rated in good to excellent condition;
  • 3 percent of the crop is rated in very poor to poor condition. 

Wheat

  • 85 percent of winter wheat is headed vs 79 percent last week;
  • 9 percent of winter wheat has been harvested vs a revised 3 percent last week;
  • 54 percent of winter wheat is rated good to excellent condition vs 58 percent a week ago;
  • 17 percent of winter wheat is rated very poor to poor condition vs only 14 percent a week ago;
  • 96 percent of spring wheat has emerged versus only 86 percent a week ago;
  • 79 percent of spring wheat is rated good to very good condition compared to 74 percent last week;
  • 2 percent of spring wheat is rated very poor to poor condition versus 5 percent a week ago.
