A Special Sunday Morning Coffee: Economic Calendar for April 8, 2012

China will report inflation figures. Higher than expected inflation will be a market negative going into the start of the week. March PMI’s for China show service sector prices rising faster while input prices in manufacturing sector rise, output prices are falling modestly. Based on this, China’s PPI (Producer Price Index) may show rising prices while CPI (Consumer Price Index) changes seem less clear to me. The market will be looking at consumer prices. However, producer prices give insight into Chinese producer margins when compared with CPI.

All times US Eastern Standard Time.
