Soybean Export Sales Improve During Week Ending March 22, 2012

Net sales of 471,900 metric tons is 32 percent higher than last week.

Soybean exports of 561,400 metric tons is 8 percent lower than a week ago. Accumulated exports for the 2011/2012 marketing year stay 22 percent behind last years pace. I recently wrote an article at Seeking Alpha entitled, “Is Record Decline In Global Soybean Production Bullish For Fertilizer Stocks?”, in which I suggest that weekly exports after March 1, are typically lower than the September – February period and if exports could buck the historical trend prices could stay higher. The weeks primary export destinations are listed below.
