Soybean Exports & Sales for Week Ending March 15, 2012

Net sales of 356,700 metric tons is -42 percent lower than last week.

Soybean exports of 610,100 metric tons is 14 percent lower than a week ago. Accumulated exports for the 2011/2012 marketing year are 22 percent behind last years pace. I recently wrote an article at Seeking Alpha entitled, “Is Record Decline In Global Soybean Production Bullish For Fertilizer Stocks?”, in which I suggest that weekly exports after March 1, are typically lower than the September – February period and if exports could buck the historical trend prices could stay higher.
