Morning Coffee: Economic & Earnings Calendar for December 6, 2011

Posted on December 6, 2011

Market’s in Asia opened lower after Standard & Poors placed 15 countries on credit downgrade watch pending the result of a summit of EU leaders being held on Friday, December 9th. This announcement throws almost all market fundamentals out of the window for the  rest of the week pending the result of the summit and Standard & Poors interpretation of those results. None of the economic data being released today will have a more than a fleeting impact on where the market closes. It’s all about European economic expectations and how those expectations impact exchange rates and hence, exports.
