The week begin with Bloomberg reporting that as of early Monday the IMF was preparing a €600 billion ($799 billion) loan package if Italy’s debt burden worsens. Asian markets were up by more than 1.5% early on the news. However, the question no one has asked yet is, “Where will the IMF get €600 billion euro from?” Eventually someone has to either pay this debt or take a haircut on it. Which outcome will it be?

All times US Eastern Standard Time.
